Tommaso Ciampa wants a prominent spot in AEW‘s return to his home state. The company is running back-to-back shows at the MGM Music Hall, with Dynamite this Wednesday, the 15th, and Collision the following night, the 16th.

In a recent interview with NBC Boston, the “Psycho Killer” revealed he asked Tony Khan for an opportunity in front of the hometown crowd.

“I haven’t performed ever in front of Boston with AEW. Haven’t ever performed at this venue, but it’s been a long time since I’ve got to like show out in Boston. A lot of times when I got to go there with WWE, it wasn’t like I didn’t get a big role on the show. So that’s kind of what I’m hoping the most for. I was like, ‘Hey Tony [Khan], just let me show out on this one.’”

Despite the request, Ciampa is not among the names officially announced for tonight’s Dynamite. The show will feature Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship celebration, a Trios Match involving Mercedes Moné, and the match between Andrade El Idolo and Jake Doyle.

Ciampa, however, arrives in Boston fresh off his win over Chris Jericho on last week’s Beach Break edition of Dynamite. He threw sand in Jericho’s eyes before nailing a Bicycle Knee to put the match away.

Since joining AEW in January, Ciampa has captured the TNT Championship, defeating Mark Briscoe. He also challenged Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship, but was defeated by submission.
