CM Punk’s opponent at WWE WrestleMania 43 has already been decided by WWE, according to Jonathan Coachman.
During the 2 Count Tuesday podcast, Coachman revealed that he received information from a source inside WWE about the plans for the event in Saudi Arabia. According to him, one of the main events will be Punk vs. Cody Rhodes, while the other night will be Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi, as had already been speculated previously.
“Yeah. Well, I had, so one of my connections actually called me yesterday, and they said 100% for WrestleMania, it’s Cody-Punk and it’s Oba-Roman.”
The matches mentioned by Coachman are not exactly news. WrestleVotes Radio had already revealed how WWE was working internally with these plans. However, the level of certainty with which Coachman gave the information is what draws attention.
When it comes to the Reigns and Femi match, Coachman also gave his opinion.
“So, if that’s the case, that is now six months away. And if Roman is only there periodically, and we have to get through Survivor Series, Royal Rumble to get to WrestleMania with those two, then there’s going to be a lot of Oba beating people down, keeping people down.”
“Not his fault, but that’s how creative is going to book this, because they want to make Oba. And, by the way, combined between the two, one loss in 2026.”
