WWE closes out SummerSlam this Sunday, August 2, and won’t run another premium live event for more than two months.
As the schedule stands, the next main roster PLE is Money in the Bank on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. That leaves a 69-day gap between the end of SummerSlam weekend and WWE’s next major show.
The empty September stands out because of Wrestlepalooza. WWE launched the event last year to kick off its partnership with ESPN, running the first edition on September 20, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Ahead of that show, TKO president and COO Mark Shapiro said at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference that the plan was to build Wrestlepalooza into an annual franchise on the level of WWE’s biggest events.
“Hopefully, Wrestlepalooza is a winner that we can bring back annually. That could be a marketing bonanza for us if we do that right. Triple H is spending night and day creatively around making that what we think it could be, which is another WrestleMania or another SummerSlam. Those two stand out above the rest. Royal Rumble is right beneath that. We think Wrestlepalooza can get into that quadrant,” Shapiro said.

Nearly a year later, Wrestlepalooza isn’t on WWE’s September schedule. The company hasn’t announced a second edition and hasn’t said whether the plan to run it every year has been dropped.
The only main roster special on the books for the month is the first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. That show took over the date originally set aside for Money in the Bank before WWE moved the PLE to October.
WWE also has AAA/NXT Worlds Collide on September 26 in Chicago and both nights of Triplemanía 34 on September 11 and 13, but none of those are traditional RAW and SmackDown PLEs.
