WWE SummerSlam
The main show opens with footage from earlier today showing the night’s biggest names arriving at U.S. Bank Stadium, including Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Trick Williams, Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton, and others.
We then get a video package recapping the highlights from Night 1. The full card for tonight is shown next.
After Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn make their entrances for the opening match of the night, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis comes out. Aldis announces that he spoke with WWE management and received approval to add another competitor to the match. GUNTHER’s music hits. The Ring General mocks Aldis over his victory against him the previous night, but shakes his hand before heading to the ring.
Before the match begins, however, Aldis announces another addition, turning the match into a Fatal 4-Way. Kevin Owens’ music hits, sending the Minnesota crowd into a frenzy. The Prizefighter will wrestle for the first time in a year and a half.
Undisputed WWE Championship – #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match: Sami Zayn vs. Finn Bálor vs. Gunther vs. Kevin Owens
– Owens hits Zayn with a Stunner for the three-count.
With the win, Owens earns the next shot at CM Punk’s Undisputed WWE Championship.
WWE United States Championship Match: Trick Williams (c) w/ Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin
– In the closing moments of the match, Williams punched Corbin, sending him crashing into Yachty and accidentally knocking the rapper through a table. With the referee distracted, Corbin struck Williams with the title belt and followed with End of Days for the win.
With the victory, Corbin captured the WWE United States Championship.
Interim WWE Women’s Championship – Ladder Match: WWE Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Lash Legend
– Green pulls down the title to win the match.
Green will now await Rhea Ripley’s return, when the undisputed champion will be determined.
Human Monies on a Pole Match: AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Danhausen
– After casting a curse on Mysterio, causing sparks to shoot from the turnbuckle and knocking him off, Danhausen grabbed the bag of money to win the match.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable
– Gable locks Penta in the Ankle Lock, forcing him to tap out.
Gable wins the first singles title of his WWE career.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins
– Reigns hits Rollins with three consecutive Spears for the pinfall.
After the match, Reigns and Rollins bump fists, just as they did during their Shield days, showing the mutual respect forged through decades of friendship.
