WWE has no plans to back off its use of artificial intelligence, despite strong pushback from parts of the fanbase on social media.

Per WRKD Wrestling, the company is fully aware of the criticism aimed at its AI-generated match graphics, promotional posters, and other materials. Even so, WWE plans to increase that kind of content, both on and off its television programming, in the coming months.

The decision isn’t much of a surprise. Back in April, during an internal TKO meeting, President Mark Shapiro said artificial intelligence was one of the company’s top priorities.

At the time, he revealed that Nick Khan and Triple H were already using the technology to gauge which storylines and wrestlers were resonating most in different parts of the United States. That data has fed into decisions on content, creative direction, touring, and revenue.

Before that, WWE had already hired a Senior Director of Creative Strategy tasked with exploring how AI could be applied to storylines, graphics, and video production. Fightful Select reported at the time that members of the creative team saw the technology mainly as a support tool, not a replacement for writers. It was described as useful for organizing files, cutting down on noise, and speeding up production work.

Still, the backlash grew throughout 2026. A video about Zaria and Sol Ruca that aired on the April 28, 2026, episode of NXT drew criticism over visual inconsistencies. Months later, a SummerSlam graphic shown during Night of Champions on June 27, 2026, read “Minnebota” instead of “Minnesota” — a mistake that quickly went viral.
