Chelsea Green delivered one of the biggest moments of SummerSlam 2026, capturing the Interim WWE Women’s Championship in front of a red-hot crowd firmly behind her.
During a recent appearance on Counted Out with Mike and Tyler, WWE producer TJ Wilson revealed that the celebration extended well beyond U.S. Bank Stadium. The reaction in Gorilla Position, he said, rivaled what the fans in Minneapolis produced.
“I thought it was incredible. I thought it was the right call. I really loved how a little bit before she won, it looked like she had that one moment to win it, and then Michin and B-Fab come out. I think a lot of people bought that maybe that was the closest she was gonna get to winning in that match. So I think when she overcame it again, I think that made the reaction that much crazier. What a reaction. The reaction in the stadium was probably only matched by the reaction backstage in Gorilla. Everyone was very happy.”
The moment Wilson referenced came when Green looked poised to capture the title, only for Michin and B-Fab to hit the ring and cut her off. After a few more minutes, however, Green found herself alone and finally secured the championship.
The victory marked Green’s first world championship in WWE, adding to a résumé that already includes making history as the inaugural Women’s United States Champion.
