ROH has confirmed a major title defense for Global Wars: Cincinnati, set for June 18 and streaming on HonorClub.
At the show, Athena will put the ROH Women’s World Championship on the line against Syuri, one of Stardom’s top representatives and a leading name in Japanese women’s wrestling.
The match stands out because of the recent history between the two. In February, at NJPW New Beginning USA, Syuri defeated Athena and retained the IWGP Women’s Championship, preventing the ROH champion from becoming a double champion.
Now, the roles will be reversed. Athena heads into Global Wars defending one of the most dominant title reigns in recent pro-wrestling history, having already passed 1,280 days as ROH Women’s World Champion.
The event also reinforces the special concept behind this year’s Global Wars, which will bring together talent from ROH, CMLL, and Stardom in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The partnership between the three promotions is being treated as one of ROH’s major international projects in 2026.
Syuri, meanwhile, will have a chance to capture one of the most protected women’s titles in wrestling today. A win would end Athena’s historic reign and give Stardom a major triumph.
