Tom Pestock, known in WWE as Baron Corbin, took to social media to push back on reports that he was close to returning to the company.
In recent days, Fightful Select reported that Pestock had been wrapping up commitments with some promotions, including MLW, where he works as Bishop Dyer alongside Donovan Dijak as The Skyscrapers.
The report gained traction because people within the industry believed the former United States Champion had either already signed with WWE or was close to doing so.
Pestock, however, mocked the situation on X, saying he had accepted eight shows in Europe and that his eye was still swollen after his time in Australia.
“Had to correct my horrible grammar. I accepted 8 shows in Europe. My eye is still swollen from Australia. I also didn’t know i was done with some of these companies. Who ever is making my schedule needs to let me know this shit. I thought it was me but apparently it’s not.”
After leaving WWE in 2024, Pestock began working the independent circuit. He has appeared for GCW, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, CMLL and World Series Wrestling in Australia, where he faced Karrion Kross and Nic Nemeth this month.
Pestock spent 12 years with WWE and won the 2017 Money in the Bank, the 2019 King of the Ring and the United States Championship. His contract was not renewed, and he confirmed in January 2025 that he was no longer under contract with the company.
As of now, WWE has not announced his return.
