Bayley May Already Have a Date for Her WWE Return

Blake Monroe challenged Bayley to appear on next week's SmackDown in Cleveland after a heated social media exchange.

Bayley May Already Have a Date for Her WWE Return

Blake Monroe may have already lined up her next rival before even working her first official match on the main roster. The newcomer called out Bayley to show up on next week’s WWE SmackDown, airing August 28 from the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

The back-and-forth kicked off when Monroe took to social media claiming she’s ready for the top prize in the women’s division:

“World championship material, don’t waste my time.”

Bayley fired back with a simple “ok.” When Monroe pressed her on whether that was all she had to say, the former WWE Women’s Champion kept it short:

“Maybe… Maybe not.”

Monroe wasn’t having it and issued a direct challenge:

“No one likes a tease, see u on Friday or don’t tweet me again.”

The exchange came just hours after the August 21 SmackDown in Toronto. Monroe had been announced for her official in-ring debut on the brand against Giulia but jumped the Japanese star during her entrance before the bell could ring, and the match never took place.

After the show, Monroe made it clear she doesn’t consider the attack her debut and demanded a shot at Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green.

“That’s not my debut. I didn’t wait four months getting called up to SmackDown, and I didn’t wait nine years to make it to the WWE to have my debut like that. I’m World Championship material. So you find Chelsea Green, you bring her to me, and then you get the glamour. Until then, get out my face.”

Bayley hasn’t been seen on WWE television since July 18, when she lost to Lyra Valkyria on Saturday Night’s Main Event.
