Becky Lynch continued taking shots at Sol Ruca ahead of their match at WWE Clash in Italy, which takes place this Sunday at Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy.
In an interview published by WWE on its official YouTube channel, the reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion said Ruca “is always causing trouble” and suggested the challenger may have some kind of backstage pull.
“Well, she seems to be a bit of a troublemaker. I call her Rabel Rouser Ruka. That’s what I call her because she’s always causing trouble. I went out there. First of all, she has a whole contract signing segment to announce her place here. Why is that done in the ring? Most other people do it backstage or we do it at home. We do a DocuSign. She has to make a whole issue out of it.
And then I go out there because it was supposed to be my celebration after all the history that I made. I told you I made all this history. It should have been my celebration. And instead, she’s out there in the ring taking my time slot. And I go out there to simply have a little polite word with Adam Pierce to say, ‘What are we doing here? This is my segment.’ And instead, she confronts me. And very violently, I just go to reach for the contract to make sure that sneaky Saul hasn’t snuck anything in there. Make sure she’s not taking too much time off, getting title shots that she hasn’t earned, and it causes me to make contact with Adam Pierce’s face. And she attacks me for no reason. Absolutely no reason.
So that’s why she rubs me the wrong way. What’s her agenda? She clearly has an agenda. I don’t know what it is about her, but she’s sneaky and she has some backstage pull. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if she has dirt on people. I don’t know if she’s trying to pull some strings with Adam Pierce, who’s a great friend of mine, but I don’t appreciate it.”
The rivalry escalated at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Lynch was disqualified in a non-title match after pulling referee Jessika Carr into the path of a Sol Snatcher.
After the finish, Pearce made the rematch official, this time with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.
