Sol Ruca captured the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Italy, held Sunday at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy.

Ruca defeated Becky Lynch in one of the biggest matches of her young main-roster run, ending The Man’s title reign and winning her first championship on WWE’s main roster.

The rivalry between the two reached its peak at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Lynch was disqualified. After the match, Adam Pearce made the rematch official, this time with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.

There had still been questions in recent hours about Ruca’s physical condition, especially after Lynch claimed her challenger was not cleared to compete.

Once the match started, however, Ruca delivered one of the best performances of her WWE career. Becky repeatedly tried to control the pace, including bending the rules to slow her down, but Ruca eventually hit the Sol Snatcher, scored the pinfall and won the match.

With the victory, Ruca now moves into a major position in WWE’s women’s division, especially after her recent arrival on Raw.
