Charlotte Flair could play a decisive role at WWE Night of Champions this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to False Finish, as of yesterday, Flair was expected to have some kind of role in the match between Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s United States Championship.

The note stands out because of where the rivalry currently sits. Stratton will defend the title against Cargill after weeks of attacks, interference, and direct confrontations on Friday Night SmackDown. The challenger gained momentum on the road to the event by defeating Tiffany in a tag team match on June 5, when she teamed with Michin against the champion and Charlotte herself.

More recently, on this week’s SmackDown, Jade once again interfered against Stratton during a tag team match involving Alexa Bliss, Michin, and B-Fab. Cargill later defeated Chelsea Green and got involved in another brawl with Tiffany, Alexa, and the Baddies.

The key point is that Charlotte also has reason to get involved. The Queen was attacked by Jade, Michin, and B-Fab before her Queen of the Ring semifinal against Liv Morgan, which directly played into her tournament loss.

There was also a report several weeks ago that WWE had discussed a match between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill for SummerSlam, which will take place on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis. The match had been viewed internally as a notable possibility for the event.

In other words, Flair interfering at Night of Champions could protect Cargill in a potential loss, keep Tiffany as champion, and officially start the road to a major rivalry between Charlotte and Jade.
