WWE delivered a direct tease involving The Rock during Saturday’s Night of Champions, held at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The moment came shortly after Trick Williams defeated Ricky Saints to retain the United States Championship.

The match had already started on rough footing for Williams. Lil Yachty, who was accompanying the champion at ringside, was ejected in the opening minutes after Saints faked an attack and fooled the referee.

Even without his ally, Trick survived the disadvantage and retained the title. Williams had been in a direct feud with Saints, who became the number one contender after defeating Carmelo Hayes on the June 19 episode of SmackDown in a win marked by cheating.

After the match, however, Yachty returned to get payback. The rapper attacked Saints with a kendo stick and closed the segment by hitting a People’s Elbow, the move made famous by The Rock in WWE.

The reference quickly drew attention because of the rumors surrounding “The Final Boss” and WrestleMania 43. The event will take place in 2027 in Riyadh, marking the first edition of WrestleMania held outside North America.

Still, the moment should not be treated as a concrete sign that The Rock is returning to the ring. In January, he addressed the talks surrounding WrestleMania 43, but it remains unclear if or when he will return to WWE programming.

For now, the tease appears to have simply been a comedic reference within the ongoing story involving Williams, Saints and Yachty, with no confirmation of larger plans involving The Rock.
