Danhausen brought the Gingerbread Man back to life, this time as a zombie, on Friday’s WWE SmackDown.

The Gingerbread Man returned in a backstage segment with Trick Williams and Lil Yachty during the Halloween special, Danhausen’s Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown, from Charleston, West Virginia.

The new version of the Gingerbread Man was completely different from the original. He showed up with spiral eyes and stitches all over his face and body, and his look was inspired by horror movie monsters.

The appearance picked up a storyline that WWE began in May. Back then, Danhausen found the Gingerbread Man costume after Williams and Yachty threw it away. WWE posted an exclusive video showing the moment.

Before that, Sami Zayn destroyed the Gingerbread Man during his feud with Williams over the United States Championship. That led to a funeral on the May 8 edition of SmackDown, where the Gingerbread Man surprised the crowd by rising out of a coffin. But that night, Yachty was the one in the costume.

In September, Yachty was a guest on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, where he said he and Williams came up with the joke to make fun of Zayn’s red hair.

The idea ended up being featured on WWE TV every week.
