Finn Balor brought back his “The Demon” character on Friday’s WWE SmackDown and destroyed Gunther in an angle that also involved Danhausen.
His return took place during Danhausen’s Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown, the Halloween special from the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, West Virginia. Danhausen was in the ring to reveal his experiment when Gunther came out and attacked him from behind.
Gunther hit a powerbomb onto a table. He continued the beatdown of Danhausen from there. Moments later, several Minihausens came out of a cloning machine and tried to make the save. One Minihausen hit a hurricanrana, but Gunther fought back with chops and threw them onto another table.
Danhausen was then beaten down again and ended up in a sleeper hold. He managed to curse Gunther with his signature gesture. At that moment, the lights went out.
When the lights turned back on, Finn Balor appeared as “The Demon.” He went after Gunther right away.
He hit a series of strikes and no-sold the chops from Gunther, who even took off his belt to attack him. Balor answered with a Sling Blade and a basement dropkick before throwing Gunther through a table.
Balor ended the attack by grabbing a ladder and hitting Gunther with it, and he then climbed up to the top of it to hit a Coup de Grace.
This was the first appearance of “The Demon” since WrestleMania 42 back in April, where Balor won a Street Fight against Dominik Mysterio.
