Drew McIntyre appears to have ambitious plans for his eventual return to WWE, for which no date has been officially set yet.
Absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania 42 in April, when he was defeated by Jacob Fatu, the Scottish Warrior is expected to be part of the top storylines, with a strong chance of challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship again.
In a recent interview on The Joe Vulpis Podcast, McIntyre said the following.
“I do believe some big stories will come hand in hand with the heavyweight title once again.”
The title is currently held by Roman Reigns, who won it by defeating CM Punk at the same WrestleMania 42.
Reigns is also set to face Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel on Nov. 7 for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship.
During the Road to WrestleMania 42, McIntyre won the Undisputed WWE Championship but ended up losing the title to Cody Rhodes.
At the time, Rhodes was chosen by Randy Orton, the Royal Rumble winner, as his opponent for the Showcase of the Immortals, which completely removed McIntyre from the title picture.
