Mickie James was back in a WWE ring Saturday night, turning up during night one of SummerSlam at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
James was out at ringside with the couple’s son, Donovan, for Nick Aldis’ match against Gunther, and The Ring General spent a good chunk of the match taunting the two of them. She came into the ring after Gunther tapped Aldis out with a sleeper.
It was Aldis’ first match in three years and the first of his WWE run, and the crowd was with him the whole way, chanting “you still got it” and giving him a big reaction on the way out despite the loss.

James and Donovan hugged him in the middle of the ring afterward for one of the more emotional moments of the night.
The appearance snapped a 1,645-day gap between WWE dates for James. Her last one came on January 29, 2022, when she entered the women’s Royal Rumble at No. 20 as the reigning IMPACT Knockouts World Champion — the first time WWE allowed an outside champion to show up carrying another company’s title. She went over ten minutes, dumped Michelle McCool, and was eliminated by Lita.
