Add as a preferred source on Google Liv Morgan is still on top of WWE‘s women’s division.
Morgan beat IYO SKY to retain the Women’s World Championship in the opener of SummerSlam Night One on Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
SKY earned the shot by beating Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final at Night of Champions on June 27. She called her shot right after she was crowned, picking Morgan again, this time with the title on the line.
The two worked a competitive back-and-forth with counters throughout and multiple near falls on both sides.

Judgment Day got involved late, as expected. Roxanne Perez hopped on the apron to distract the referee and Raquel Rodriguez shoved SKY off the top, but Morgan only got two out of it. SKY then wiped out both of them with a moonsault off the top to the floor, leaving the champion without backup down the stretch.
The biggest near fall came when SKY hit Morgan with her own ObLIVion, only for Morgan to kick out at two.
Morgan came back with a Codebreaker and finished with the ObLIVion for the pin.
It was Morgan’s first televised defense of the reign. She has held the title since taking it off Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 and is now 106 days into the run. She also moved to 3-0 at SummerSlam, going into all three as champion.
