Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Added to Title Match at AAA Ola de Calor

Rey Mysterio held another press conference on Saturday’s AAA on FOX, delivering major updates on the Omos situation and the AAA Latin American Championship tournament.

The AAA General Manager confirmed that Omos remains suspended indefinitely following the attack on Mysterio, and is banned from the company and all event venues. The suspension came after Omos lost control during a title qualifying match, attacking Mysterio after his bout with Galeno ended in a no-contest.

During the press conference, Mysterio revealed that Galeno is hospitalized and has not received medical clearance for upcoming AAA shows. Galeno was injured in the match against Omos, which had to be stopped without a winner.

Mysterio also announced a major shakeup to the match set to crown a new AAA Latin American Champion at Ola de Calor. Damian Priest has been confirmed as the fourth participant in the vacant title match.

The championship was vacated after El Hijo del Vikingo suffered a knee injury requiring surgery, keeping him out of action for several months. Mysterio then determined that a new champion would be crowned through a Fatal 4-Way.

Priest’s addition brings another high-profile name to the AAA Latin American Championship match heading into Ola de Calor.
