Add as a preferred source on Google Grayson Waller returned to WWE NXT on the July 28 episode. The Australian opened the show at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and cut a promo. Waller sharply criticized how WWE has handled his career.
Waller recalled his main roster debut and winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Austin Theory at WrestleMania 40. He said the way WWE has used him since winning the title has been embarrassing. Waller also took shots at Theory and The New Day. He said he needed to get back to who he used to be.
Waller then declared that he was coming for the NXT Championship. He taunted Cruz Montana, the name Mike Santana has used since joining WWE, and also criticized Tony D’Angelo.
A member of the production crew tried to end the promo, but Waller refused to leave the ring. His microphone was cut off, and the broadcast went to commercial as he continued speaking directly to the camera.
Waller challenged for the NXT Championship four times between 2023 and 2025. He lost twice to Bron Breakker and once to Carmelo Hayes. His most recent challenge ended in a loss to Oba Femi in a Triple Threat Match that also featured Austin Theory.
