Add as a preferred source on Google Grayson Waller returned to WWE NXT on the July 28 episode and opened the show by burying nearly the entire men’s division.
Waller called the last two years of his career an “embarrassment,” took shots at Austin Theory, The New Day and Cruz Montana, and said the NXT men are lazy and complacent. He claimed only 10 percent of the roster is ready for the main roster, and that all of them are from the women’s division.
Later in the night, Waller attacked Montana and NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, putting himself in the title picture.
Waller followed up on Instagram, writing that fans should note “which NXT superstars clapped back and which didn’t” — and that the responses told him who actually wants it.
Saquon Shugars answered, saying Waller only trains when women are around and that he can’t lace Duke Hudson’s boots. Montana, the former TNA World Champion, said he respects the frustration but wants Waller to back it up.
Waller also got praise from outside NXT. CM Punk said Waller turned his frustration into a bullet aimed at the competition, and John Cena said he finally found his “why.”
