Kali Armstrong landed one of the biggest opportunities of her WWE career to date on Tuesday night.
On this week’s episode of NXT, Armstrong defeated ZARIA in a qualifying match to earn her way into the Women’s Speed Championship and Women’s North American Championship unification match at NXT Heatwave.
General Manager Robert Stone set the stipulation last week, ruling that Armstrong would be added to the match between ZARIA and Wren Sinclair if she could defeat the reigning Women’s North American Champion.
In the closing moments of the match, ZARIA went for the F-5, but Armstrong escaped and quickly rolled her up for the pin.
The match at NXT Heatwave is now officially a Triple Threat, with Kali Armstrong joining ZARIA and Wren Sinclair. Both the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship will be on the line, with the winner walking away as champion.
ZARIA captured her title on June 9 with a victory over Tatum Paxley, while Sinclair became Women’s Speed Champion on March 17 by submitting Fallon Henley.
NXT Heatwave takes place this Sunday, August 30, at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.
