Add as a preferred source on Google Kyle Fletcher is happy with AEW‘s expanded pay-per-view schedule and believes the promotion keeps its standards high every time it puts on one of its major events.
In an interview with The Knockturnal during San Diego Comic-Con, the current AEW International Champion said the increase in events gives him more chances to showcase his work on the biggest stages.
“Yeah, man. This year, we upped the schedule a lot, which is… Personally, I think our pay-per-views are out of this world. I think we knock it out of the park every single time, so… To me, the more pay-per-views, the better. The more chances I get to go out there and do what I do on a big stage, I’m never going to complain about that. Redemption this Sunday, just another opportunity for me to go out there and show that I’m the best professional wrestler in the world.
I get to get in there with Bandido, who, I mean, all of 2025 was regarded as one of the best in-ring professionals in the world. I’d like to say I was in that conversation as well. So I think first time ever singles match, everybody banned from ringside, AEW International Championship on the line. I think it’s got the makings for a pretty big match.”
Fletcher made the comments ahead of AEW Redemption, set for July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. He will defend the International Championship against Bandido in their first-ever singles match, with everyone banned from ringside.
Fletcher won the title on July 8, defeating Konosuke Takeshita on the Beach Break edition of Dynamite.
The schedule Fletcher referenced includes a long run of major events. Redemption will be the fifth straight pay-per-view since March, with All In and All Out already set for August 30 and September 26, respectively.
