Liv Morgan plans to defend the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY without help from The Judgment Day at WWE SummerSlam, in what will be her first televised title defense since WrestleMania 42.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Dominik Mysterio said Morgan made the decision herself, though he will be there throughout the weekend.

“She wants to do this on her own, so I’m gonna be there to support her, but she wants to prove herself. Even though she doesn’t need to.”

The decision is notable given recent events, as The Judgment Day has been directly involved in Morgan’s rivalry with SKY since Queen of the Ring.

On the July 13 episode of Raw, Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez attacked SKY after her win over Perez, with Morgan ending the segment by hitting SKY with the title.

Morgan and SKY will meet on Saturday, August 1, on the first night of SummerSlam at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
