Big Cass looks to be closing in on his WWE return after eight years away from the company.

WWE aired a cryptic vignette on this week’s episode of Raw, showing the silhouette of a wrestler built like Cass. The only thing visible in the background was the marking “8/3,” pointing to August 3.

That date lines up with the first Raw following SummerSlam, which runs August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The week after that, Raw heads to Casey’s Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cass wasn’t named in the teaser, but the video all but confirms what Fightful Select has already reported. The outlet revealed on June 30 that Big Bill had given AEW notice of his departure and was on his way back to WWE.

Big Bill hadn’t wrestled for AEW since February. He signed with Tony Khan’s company in August 2022 and later teamed with Ricky Starks to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

There’s also an expectation that Enzo Amore will return as well to help rebuild the once-popular tag team. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said recently that WWE’s early plan is to lean into nostalgia for the pair, noting that Cass has evolved considerably since his first run with the company.

Big Cass was under contract with WWE from 2011 to 2018. He and Enzo were promoted to the main roster following WrestleMania 32 in 2016, and the pairing ended the next year when Cass attacked his former partner.
