Pat McAfee May Not Be Done With WWE

Pat McAfee May Not Be Done With WWE

Pat McAfee’s WWE status remains a curious one, nearly four months after he indicated his pro wrestling run was over following WrestleMania 42.

McAfee’s profile on WWE.com is still listed among active Superstars and has not been moved to the Alumni section. His official bio also leaves the door open regarding his future with the company.

That’s notable considering what happened at WrestleMania 42. After Randy Orton fell to Cody Rhodes, McAfee declared he was walking away from wrestling.

As previously reported here on Wrestling Noticias, his departure also scrapped plans for a tag team match at Backlash that would have paired McAfee and Orton against Rhodes and Jelly Roll.

Another detail makes the situation even more interesting. When Brock Lesnar recently confirmed his retirement, WWE updated his profile to officially designate him as “WWE Alumni.” That same change has not been made for McAfee.

McAfee remaining on the active roster doesn’t confirm a return to WWE programming. Still, the company continuing to treat his profile as current leaves the door open that his exit may not have been permanent.

As of now, WWE has not announced any upcoming appearance for Pat McAfee.
