Bayley’s future with WWE remains up in the air. While she’s still technically under contract, she has not signed a new deal. Her current agreement is expected to expire in the final months of 2026.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that the decision rests with Bayley herself and that WWE apparently has two plans mapped out depending on the outcome.
“The only thing I’ve heard from them (WWE) when it comes to Bayley is that Bayley has a decision to make. So that’s the story, Bayley has a decision to make.
She has not signed a contract. When she signs a contract I’m sure she’ll be back on TV. I think they’re doing the same thing Tony (Khan) does, or has done, he doesn’t always do it. And they don’t always do it.
But I think the situation with her is if she signs a contract she’ll probably come back and attack Lyra, and that’ll probably be her storyline. If she doesn’t sign, then she doesn’t come back and the Madison Square Garden thing was a write-off.”

11:37 AM · Aug 11, 2026Bayley has been off WWE television since July 18, when she lost to Lyra Valkyria on Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden.
The former champion did continue working live events afterward. Her last match took place on July 26 in Bakersfield, California.
Even with Bayley off TV, WWE has kept the storyline alive. On the August 10 episode of Raw, Valkyria brought up her former partner during an exchange with Sol Ruca and IYO SKY, reminding them that she took Bayley out in New York City.
AEW is also monitoring the situation. According to Fightful Select, Bayley’s potential free agency has been discussed internally for close to a year, and the company is expected to show strong interest if she hits the open market.
