Shayna Baszler is expected to keep working behind the scenes for WWE even after signing with TNA. Baszler said she remains on good terms with WWE and plans to continue helping develop new talent.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Baszler said she has been working as a part-time coach and producer for NXT and Evolve.

“There’s been some thought because word got out somehow,” Baszler said. “I’ve been coaching, producing part-time at NXT and Evolve and all that.”

“That is something that I found that I have fallen in love with, watching these young athletes grow and learn to love pro wrestling,” Baszler said.

On whether she can balance her roles with both companies, Baszler said:

“TNA is the perfect place for me right now. Thankfully, there’s a good relationship so I can still coach when I’m available. I’m obviously not as available as I was, but that door I guess is still there.”

“I can coach when I need a cane and have to sit in a chair,” Baszler said. “Beating people up right now is what I’m able to do right now, and let’s just ride it till the wheels fall off.”

Asked whether she could keep coaching for WWE if she were available, Baszler said:

“Nobody’s told me no.”

Baszler said she spoke with people at WWE before agreeing to help Zoey Serrano in TNA.

“To be fair, I did ask people that mattered, ‘Hey, I’m thinking about helping Zoey out,” Baszler said. “Are there any issues with that? Nobody told me not to do it and that I wouldn’t be welcomed back.”

But she acknowledged that her availability may require more conversations with WWE.

“Now again, there’s maybe some discussion to be had about my availability and all that, and we might have to revisit some of that at some point,” Baszler said. “I’m not someone that’s going to burn bridges either. I’m very thankful to WWE and everything they did for me and the platform they gave me.”

The current setup continues an arrangement Baszler had already explained in December 2025. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet at the time, she said she didn’t have an official contract with WWE to work backstage but was serving as a guest coach.

Baszler said she started shadowing NXT producers while she was still on the WWE roster. When she was released, though, she was told she could keep doing it.

WWE’s relationship with TNA also makes the arrangement easier. WWE and TNA announced a multi-year partnership in January 2025 that includes a talent exchange and other opportunities.

Baszler appeared on the March 3 episode of NXT. In a segment on the show, she helped Kelani Jordan train for her NXT Underground Match against Lola Vice at Vengeance Day.
