Sol Ruca scored the biggest win of her career at Clash in Italy on May 31 in Turin, defeating Becky Lynch to capture the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Appearing on the WWE Clash in Italy Recap, Ruca discussed sharing the ring with Lynch in her first major main roster rivalry. The new champion said “The Man” helped build the current landscape of women’s wrestling and said she felt honored to face one of the greatest women’s wrestlers in company history.
“She pretty much founded what we see today in women’s wrestling. I understand her perspective on these newcomers coming in and getting opportunities, but times are changing with the way NXT is bringing in new talent. She’s one of the greatest, and I feel honored to have been in the ring with her.”

The rivalry between the two picked up after Becky was disqualified in a non-title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, which led Adam Pearce to make the title rematch official.
At Clash in Italy, Ruca won after escaping a Manhandle Slam and hitting the Sol Snatcher to score the pinfall. During the match, Lynch also argued with referee Jessika Carr several times and even used her as a shield at a key moment.
