Add as a preferred source on Google Kendal Grey will put the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Lola Vice in an NXT Underground match on the August 4 episode of WWE NXT.
The match was announced on Tuesday’s episode of NXT, when Grey headed to the ring accompanied by Wren Sinclair and was interrupted by the former champion.
Vice said Grey was able to beat her in a match, but wouldn’t be able to beat her in a fight. That challenge led to the stipulation, which Grey accepted right away.
This will be the second time the two meet for the title in just over a month. Grey defeated Vice in the main event of Great American Bash, held June 28, to win the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.
Vice earned the rematch on the July 14 episode, when she defeated Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong in a Triple Threat match to become the No. 1 contender.
Vice has won every match she’s had under the NXT Underground stipulation so far, defeating Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan. In case you’re not familiar with the stipulation, there’s no pinfall in these matches. The only way to win is by knockout or submission.
