Trick Williams Reveals the Risk He Took During Undertaker Confrontation on WWE NXT

Trick Williams’ face-to-face confrontation with The Undertaker stands as one of the most memorable moments of his WWE NXT run, but Williams has now revealed he was taking a far bigger risk than it appeared on camera.

It all started on July 15, 2025, when Williams called out members of Team Undertaker on WWE LFG and questioned what the Hall of Famer even saw in them. The following week, now holding the TNA World Championship, Trick called the Deadman out to the ring and went as far as claiming he could knock him out.

In a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, Williams revealed he never spoke to The Undertaker before making the callout, choosing instead to throw it out there and see how the legend would react.

“That’s some of my most risky work, because true backstory on that, I did not talk to him before saying this. So I just threw it out there to see how he’s gonna respond. When I saw him, of course I took a Chokeslam but it was smiles after that, so I think I earned his respect that night.”

The confrontation took place on July 22, 2025, in Houston. The Undertaker told Williams he had everything except respect and warned that his attitude shift would ultimately cost him the TNA World Championship. Trick took a swing at him shortly after but was laid out with a Chokeslam.

Williams’ sense that he had earned The Undertaker’s respect only came afterward. The Deadman posted a message stating that the future was in Trick’s hands and that it had been a pleasure sharing the ring with him.

The full segment also quickly became the most-watched piece of content from that episode of NXT on YouTube, hitting 1.1 million views.
