CM Punk made a special appearance at the NXT live event on Saturday, August 15, at the VSU Multipurpose Center in Petersburg, Virginia. The current Undisputed WWE Champion didn’t just show up for a segment — he worked the main event.
Punk teamed with NXT Tag Team Champions Myles Borne and Tavion Heights to take on the Vanity Project — Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor, and Ricky Smokes — in a six-man tag.
Punk’s team picked up the win after Drake was put through a table. After the match, several NXT names hit the ring for a group photo with the champion to close out the show.
Following the event, Punk took to Instagram to thank the NXT talent and staff.
“Special thank you to all NXT office and talent for allowing me to come work with you all.
My heart is so full. I love this. I am so grateful, and appreciative of everyone’s hard work. What a life!”
