False Finish HQ reported Monday that sources indicate the two sides are discussing an extension. The report did not include details on the length of Yachty’s current contract or the proposed extension.
The two sides had been negotiating before Yachty joined WWE television. WrestleVotes Radio reported in April that the talks could lead to appearances beyond WrestleMania 42, and Yachty aligned with Trick Williams on SmackDown days later.
Yachty accompanied Williams when he defeated Sami Zayn for the United States Championship at WrestleMania. On the April 24 SmackDown, Yachty said he was “here to stay,” and he remained part of Williams’ act throughout the title run.

The run went beyond a one-off. Williams said in June that Yachty wanted a real storyline instead of a single appearance and had been “locked in” ever since. Yachty also trained with Williams and WWE Performance Center coach Norman Smiley as he worked toward an eventual in-ring debut.
Yachty was in Williams’ corner again at SummerSlam Night 2 on Sunday. He went through a table at ringside during the finish before Baron Corbin used the U.S. title and hit End of Days to win the championship.
WWE hasn’t announced an extension, and the report indicates talks remain ongoing.
