Add as a preferred source on Google Seth Rollins’ split from The Vision was never supposed to happen in October 2025. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s attack on Raw — just 48 hours after Crown Jewel — was an emergency change forced by Rollins’ legitimate shoulder injury.
On the third season of WWE: Unreal, Triple H confirmed that the creative team had mapped out a much longer story for the stable.
“We have some great things in place (for The Vision), running all the way through WrestleMania (42), and in the blink of an eye, that’s all gone.”
Rollins also expressed frustration over the injury’s impact on Breakker and Reed.
“Looking at the trajectory of what it was gonna look like going into next year, and raising the stock of Bron and Bronson, and heading into WrestleMania with the World Heavyweight Championship, and it just felt like, you know, this was gonna be a really good year.”
“And to kind of see that go up in smoke is, I feel very disappointed. And I feel like, you know, people will be disappointed in me. I’m disappointed in myself.”
At the time, Fightful Select reported that Rollins was not set to leave the group until the following year, forcing WWE to accelerate Breakker and Reed’s push. Dave Meltzer also reported that Rollins was tentatively the opponent for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42, with the stable’s primary goal being to establish Breakker as a new top name.
Things ultimately went in a different direction. Rollins was stripped of the title, Gunther defeated him at WrestleMania 42, and Breakker made his return at the same event to hit Rollins with a Spear.
The Rollins vs. Reigns match, however, was only postponed — and under different circumstances than originally planned. The two will compete for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam on August 1 and 2 in Minneapolis.
