FTR’s future is once again being linked to WWE, even though there is currently no concrete sign that the team is leaving AEW.
This past Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an I Quit match that opened the pay-per-view at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
According to BodySlam, Harwood and Wheeler signed four-year deals with AEW in 2023 and are now approaching the option year of those contracts. Because of that, WWE interest has emerged and was relayed to the team through mutual contacts.
The key issue right now is money. People close to the situation indicate that FTR sees itself as one of AEW’s top acts and believes it should be paid at that level.
However, there are no negotiations with WWE, nor is there any indication that the team is on its way out.
