Enzo Amore was much closer to returning to WWE this year than previously believed. The latest Wrestling Observer update indicates that there were plans to put him in NXT while Big Cass would work as a singles act on Raw.
According to Dave Meltzer, WWE planned to keep Amore and Cass apart because it believed reuniting the former tag team would limit Cass’ potential as a singles wrestler. At one point, Amore’s return was described to Meltzer as all but a done deal, but it has yet to happen.
Those plans have shifted several times over the past few months. In May, WrestleVotes reported that WWE was interested in reuniting Amore and Cass. A few days later, the Observer wrote that the plan at that point was to bring Amore into NXT. Amore was also spotted at the WWE Performance Center on May 19.
#wwe #wweraw #aaa #wrestling #luchalibre

Cass, on the other hand, returned to RAW without Amore on August 3, attacking Je’Von Evans. In his first match back, Cass beat Evans, but Evans later got the better of him in a qualifier for the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Cass also lost to Dragon Lee on September 28.
In Meltzer’s view, the loss to Lee suggested that WWE may have given up on a singles push for Cass. Meltzer did not, however, present that as confirmed inside information. Cass was featured prominently again last night, interfering in the tag team match pitting Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee against Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. After the match, Cass attacked Rey and Lee.
As things stand, Amore’s return remains unconfirmed. A reunion with Cass, an idea WWE previously steered away from, is now something Meltzer considers possible given Cass’ current spot on the roster.
