An immediate rematch between Penta and Roman Reigns is not currently in WWE’s plans, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select.
That could change down the road, though. WWE was impressed by the reception their match received on the September 14 RAW, both from fans and backstage, and believes it’s a matchup the company can revisit whenever it wants. One source added that a rematch could headline a future Premium Live Event.
The report also included an update on how WWE views Penta going forward. Several people within the company believe he deserves to stay near the top of the card after his performance against Reigns, with the internal feeling being that he’s established himself as a legitimate main eventer.
A rematch between Penta and Reigns is not currently planned.

However, given the reception both publicly and behind the scenes, it is a matchup that the company already feels it can go back to at any time and could headline a PLE in the future.

Penta earned his World Heavyweight Championship opportunity by winning the No. 1 contender’s tournament that ran from August through September. He beat Laredo Kid, La Parka and Rey Fénix along the way before facing Reigns at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Reigns retained. He defeated Penta in the RAW main event to keep the World Heavyweight Championship.
Reigns already has his next challenger lined up. After RAW went off the air in Mexico City, LA Knight appeared and dropped the champion with a BFT. The following day, WWE confirmed Reigns vs. Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank on October 10.
