Add as a preferred source on Google WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden topped a handful of recent editions in search interest, but it fell well short of the biggest numbers the special has posted since its return.
According to a report from F4WOnline, the show scored roughly 40 out of 100 on Google Trends. The number reflects relative audience interest rather than total search volume, since the data is normalized on a scale of 0 to 100. The reading was also still provisional at the time of publication.
For context, the July 18 show finished 60% below the record set in December 2025, when John Cena wrestled the final match of his career against Gunther.
The show also came in 17% below Saturday Night’s Main Event’s return in December 2024. On the other hand, it topped the May 24, 2025 edition by 8%, the May 23, 2026 event by 33%, and the July 12, 2025 special — which was marked by Goldberg’s retirement — by 60%.
Despite the gap to Cena’s record, WWE turned in a solid performance at the box office. WrestleTix estimated 13,500 tickets distributed for a 14,649-seat setup at Madison Square Garden. The event also marked Saturday Night’s Main Event’s return to the venue after nearly two decades.
In the main event, CM Punk and Cody Rhodes defeated Gunther and Sami Zayn, keeping their match at SummerSlam a singles bout. The show closed with Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson getting the better of Seth Rollins and Tyrese Haliburton.
