Add as a preferred source on Google Daniel Garcia was reportedly fined $10,000 by AEW after knocking phones out of fans’ hands during AEW Redemption on July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The company has not officially confirmed the reported punishment.
According to Ringside News, the fan involved in the first incident contacted the outlet and said AEW reached out to him by direct message and then by phone. The company also reportedly offered him tickets to its next show in his area.
“Hi, I am the individual who yelled at Daniel Garcia for hitting my phone, the first guy. I got a DM followed by a phone call from AEW today, and they have fined him $10,000, as well as offered me tickets to the next show in my area.”
Ringside News stressed that it had not independently confirmed the fine. AEW and Garcia have not publicly commented on the situation.

Footage shot from the crowd appears to show Garcia swatting at phones as the Death Riders left the arena through the crowd. One phone fell into an area below the stands, but Jon Moxley retrieved it and returned it to its owner. Additional footage appears to show Garcia making contact with phones held by three separate fans.
Garcia did not wrestle on the card. He was at ringside with The Dogs during the Double Chain Match and later joined the Death Riders in attacking Kenny Omega after the main event.
A fine would be consistent with AEW’s known internal policies. A 2023 memo obtained by PWInsider prohibited physical contact with fans and required advance approval for physicality in the crowd, with wrestlers subject to fines for violating the policy.
