Two AEW Redemption Matches Get Five Stars From Dave Meltzer

Dave Meltzer awarded The Young Bucks’ win over Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay at AEW Redemption five stars in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The tag match went down July 26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, with Matt and Nick Jackson going over the Death Riders pair.

The finish saw Ospreay pull a chair away from Moxley, only for Matt to superkick it into Ospreay’s face, leaving the Bucks to hit a BTE Trigger and a string of superkicks and pin the AEW Continental Champion.

Later in the night, the Bucks came out after Adam Copeland and Christian Cage turned back PAC and Claudio Castagnoli to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles, and Cage & Cope vs. The Bucks was made official on the spot for All In: London on 8/30 at Wembley Stadium.

That wasn’t the only five-star call on the show. Kyle Fletcher’s International Title defense against ROH World Champion Bandido also got five, while the six-way ladder match won by “Speedball” Mike Bailey for a shot at the International Title got four and a half.
