Add as a preferred source on Google Oba Femi walked out of SummerSlam Saturday with more than another win over Brock Lesnar. Once the show went off the air, The Ruler was named the first-ever ESPN Moment of the Night champion.
Sam Roberts presented Femi with the custom belt for his work in the Night 1 main event and had him sign it. It isn’t a WWE title and it won’t be defended. ESPN created the award to spotlight the most impactful performance, storyline or match moment from each premium live event.
Femi earned it by beating Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. He kicked out of a Tombstone Piledriver on the exposed boards after Lesnar tore up the canvas, then hit Fall From Grace for the pin in a match that went just over 11 minutes.

The result closed out the trilogy 2-1 in Femi’s favor, after he went over at WrestleMania 42 and Lesnar evened things up at Clash in Italy. It also handed Lesnar his first loss inside the Cell, as he came in 2-0 in the structure with both wins over The Undertaker.
The post-match did as much for Femi as the finish itself. Lesnar came back into the ring, hugged him, raised his hand and put him over on the mic as the future of WWE while calling himself the past.
ESPN announced the belt in a July 27 press release, days out from the weekend, and said it would also be worked into fan-facing content, creator integrations and on-site activations. That makes Femi more than a one-off winner, since the plan is to crown a Moment of the Night champion after every WWE PLE going forward.
