Sami Zayn could be in for a very short reign as Undisputed WWE Champion, at least if the rumors that have gained traction on social media in recent hours turn out to be accurate.

Zayn won the title at Night of Champions on June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat Match. The win marked the first world title of his WWE career.

Despite the strong positive reaction from fans, there is already speculation that WWE could end his reign at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The idea making the rounds points to Gunther as a possible challenger for Zayn at the special. If he wins, “The Ring General” would head into SummerSlam as world champion, setting up a potential match against Brock Lesnar with a “Title vs. Career” stipulation.

However, as of now, no major credible source has confirmed that this is WWE’s actual plan.

This year’s SummerSlam will take place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a city directly tied to Lesnar’s career.

Another important factor is Oba Femi. He won the King of the Ring and earned a world title shot at the event, with the option to choose between Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns.
