Add as a preferred source on Google WWE says this Saturday’s episode of AAA on FOX, airing July 18, will open with a “major announcement” involving the promotion’s General Manager, Rey Mysterio.
No details on the announcement have surfaced so far. One of the biggest storylines still without a resolution, though, involves the possible arrival of a former WWE World Champion to the Mexican promotion.
In June, Mysterio said AAA was in advanced negotiations with a former WWE world champion who has never worked for the company. The wrestler’s name has also been kept under wraps, and there’s no confirmation that tonight’s announcement is connected to that signing.
The show will also feature a three-way match between El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Abismo Negro Jr. and Texano Jr. The winner will earn a future shot at the vacant AAA Latin American Championship.

The title was vacated after El Hijo del Vikingo suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery and is expected to keep him out of action for several months. Dorian Roldán tried to hand the title directly to Omos, but Rey Mysterio stepped in to block the move and demanded the giant return the belt.
Mysterio will also sit down with Andrea Bazarte, who left AAA during the rivalry between El Grande Americano and the Original El Grande Americano.
Los Perros del Mal — the group made up of Daga, Karmen Petrovic, Bronco Nima, Angel and Berto — are also confirmed for the show. The stable is feuding with El Grande Americano, who recently got help from AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio.
For fans in the United States, AAA will air on the YouTube and Facebook channels of both WWE and the promotion itself, immediately following Saturday Night’s Main Event.
