FTR is already eyeing a possible match against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods shortly after the duo’s WWE exit.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Cash Wheeler addressed the possibility of facing the former New Day members in AEW, noting that the match never happened under ideal circumstances.
“I don’t think we’ve ever really had the chance to go two versus two against those guys without there being any restrictions on us. Without there being too many things that you’re not allowed to do.”
As previously reported, key names within AEW are already said to be interested in bringing the duo in, though there is a 90-day waiting period before they can appear for another company.
FTR and New Day did share the ring in WWE while Wheeler and Dax Harwood were still working as The Revival. In 2019, for example, New Day defeated The Revival at TLC in a Ladder Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
For now, FTR remains the AEW World Tag Team Champions and will defend the titles against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing this Sunday in an I Quit Match.
