In an Instagram Story, the WWE Hall of Famer said she did not expect to realize how much her overall health truly mattered during the recovery process. After years of pushing her body to the limit, Bella explained that healing is not just about rest, but about consistent habits such as sleep, nutrition, and hormonal balance.
The injury knocked Nikki out of WrestleMania 42, where she had originally been set to team with Brie Bella in the Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. She later confirmed that she needed surgery after fracturing, spraining, and tearing structures in her ankle.

With Nikki not medically cleared, Paige was called in as her replacement. The Anti-Diva returned to WWE at Allegiant Stadium and captured the tag titles alongside Brie in her first match for the company since 2017.
Despite the frustrating setback, Nikki has already indicated that she hopes to return in June, pointing to Night of Champions on June 27 as a possibility. She also made it clear that she still has goals in WWE, including a future shot at the Women’s World Championship.
For now, Brie Bella and Paige remain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, while Nikki continues her recovery before making her way back to WWE programming.
