Big Bill is on his way out of AEW and is expected to return to WWE soon, opening the door for the reunion of one of the most popular teams from NXT’s early era.

According to Fightful Select, the former Big Cass has informed AEW that he will not be renewing his contract, which expires in the coming days. WWE’s plan is to reunite him with Enzo Amore, who is also expected to sign with the company.

The situation had already been closely followed by Wrestling Noticias, which reported that Bill’s AEW deal was set to expire between late May and early June. Around that same time, Enzo was spotted at the WWE Performance Center, fueling rumors of a return.

Although his exit appears to be moving forward, Big Bill is still listed on AEW’s official roster, which is completely normal until his contract is officially finished.

His most recent match took place on the April 6 edition of ROH on HonorClub, when he and Bryan Keith defeated Nick Halen and Vin Parker in just over two minutes. His last appearance on AEW programming came in February during a Parking Lot Fight.

Enzo and Cass had a memorable run in NXT and were called up to the main roster on Raw after WrestleMania 32, but they never won the tag team titles.

It remains unclear whether the team will be used on Raw, SmackDown, or NXT.
