Add as a preferred source on Google Jay White is not expected to be out long term following the scary spot that ended up being the talking point of his Double Chain Match at AEW Redemption on 7/26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Late in the match against The Dogs, David Finlay went for a Dominator and dropped White square on his head and neck, with the chain appearing to stop Finlay from getting all the way around on the move. Commentary reacted like something had gone wrong. Switchblade stayed in the match and kicked out at two.
The Dogs went over after the Death Riders got involved, with Marina Shafir sliding Finlay the shillelagh he used to pin Juice Robinson.
It did appear Jay White got banged up at AEW Redemption, but when asking, there was no indication he was expected out of action for any extended period.

Per PWInsider, White did leave the building banged up. In seeking an update, the outlet heard nothing to indicate he’s looking at an extended absence.
His disappearance from TV since the pay-per-view only added to the concern. White wasn’t with the Bang Bang Gang on the 7/29 Dynamite, and the following night on Collision, Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn and Juice Robinson worked the Death Riders without him. There’s currently no timetable for his return to AEW programming.
The scare carries extra weight given how recently White got healthy. Redemption was only his third match back since he returned to the ring on 7/2, ending a 470-day absence that began with a broken hand and included shoulder surgery. Since coming back, he’s reunited with the Bang Bang Gang, beaten Clark Connors in his first singles match since March 2025 and started a program with Finlay.
