WWE may have something big planned for the close of tonight’s RAW in Mexico City. Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta at Arena CDMX.
On Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said he was told WWE wants to make sure the Mexico City crowd leaves happy.
“They’re gonna send these fans home happy one way or the other.”
Alvarez was clear that he hasn’t been told Penta is winning the title. He did, however, point to a shift in the betting odds, where Penta had become a slight favorite hours before the show.
The intrigue only adds to the anticipation around tonight’s main event. Penta earned his title shot by winning an eight-man tournament, beating his brother Rey Fenix in the final.

Even if Reigns retains the World Heavyweight Championship, what Alvarez heard was about how the show ends, not necessarily a title change. WWE could also have some other special moment in store.
Tonight’s RAW also caps a historic WWE run through Mexico. It’s the first RAW in Mexico City in 15 years, after stops in Guadalajara and Monterrey, a live SmackDown and night two of AAA Triplemanía 34 at Arena CDMX.
Triplemanía closed with El Grande Americano winning the AAA Mega Championship.
Along with the Reigns vs. Penta main event, Chad Gable will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dragon Lee, while Stephanie Vaquer will make her first RAW appearance as the new Women’s World Champion.
