Add as a preferred source on Google Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins spent the SummerSlam main event nodding to the third member of The Shield, working several Jon Moxley references into the World Heavyweight Title match before Reigns retained at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
The Shield callbacks started before the two ever locked up. Rollins came out in a white version of the group’s old tactical vest and offered it to Reigns, who wanted nothing to do with it.
The most direct Moxley reference came down the stretch. During a strike exchange, Rollins fired off the rebound lariat that Moxley leaned on as a signature during his run as Dean Ambrose, and Reigns answered right back with Dirty Deeds, the double underhook DDT that Moxley now calls the Paradigm Shift in AEW.

Rollins had his best shot at the title shortly after, countering a Spear into a Pedigree and following up with the Stomp. He went back to the Stomp from the top rope moments later, but Reigns moved out of the way.
Reigns took over from there and hit three straight Spears. The referee, who had been wiped out earlier in the match on an accidental collision, was back to his feet in time to count the fall, and the OTC left with the World Heavyweight Title.
The win evens the one-on-one series between them at five wins apiece, with one draw.
