Add as a preferred source on Google Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins closed out WWE SummerSlam Night 2 on August 2 with the longest match of the weekend, and PWInsider reports that Bobby Roode and Michael Hayes produced it.
Reigns put Rollins away with three straight Spears at the 33:33 mark to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. The two shared The Shield’s fist bump after the bell.
The pairing was no surprise. Hayes has produced just about every major Reigns and Bloodline segment in recent years, with Roode working alongside him as co-producer. Roode has drawn strong reviews internally for his work in the role.
Triple H recently said he asked Hayes to mentor Roode after the former NXT Champion began moving into a full-time backstage job because of his neck issues.
The two also produced both WrestleMania 40 main events. They worked The Rock and Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes and Rollins on Night 1, then Rhodes’ historic win over Reigns on Night 2.
Hayes and Roode were involved in both WrestleMania 42 main events as well, including Reigns vs. CM Punk, working alongside Paul Heyman.
